2007 Swim & Dive  Overview Our swim team competes on 2 levels: Varsity and Junior Varsity. For practice purposes the team is split into 2 groups: Varsity boys and girls and Junior Varsity boys and girls. The Novice group competes at the JV level in our swim meets. Westlake competes in the very tough Marmonte League. Our season begins in mid February and ends in mid May. The top level varsity swimmers can qualify for CIF championships if they meet the rigorous time standards for their events (see the CIF Swim Time Standards page on our website). CIF Championships are the equivalent of a State Championship meet. Many of our top level swimmers swim year round for local swim clubs like Conejo Simi Aquatics or CLASS Aquatics. Club swimming is strongly recommended for those who wish to compete at the varsity level. |
